Provost of MBRU

Professor Mutairu Ezimokhai is the Provost of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU)

Prior to his current position he was the Academic Advisor to the Managing Director, Education, Dubai Healthcare City Authority, and the academic lead for the development and launch of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and its College of Medicine. He joined the Dubai Healthcare City in March 2014.

His previous positions include Assistant Dean for Education and Academic Affairs, Chairman of Department of Medical Education, and Chairman of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University. He was also the Postgraduate Dean and Advisor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Dubai Health Authority, previously known as Department of Health and Medical Services, where he developed the Dubai Residency Training Program. He was Assistant Dean (Clinical) at the University of Benin and Secretary, Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

Professor Mutairu Ezimokhai



His undergraduate training was at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he was a University Scholar. He obtained a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Physiology) with 1st class honors and MBBS degree with distinctions in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Preventive and Social Medicine, and gold medals in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery and Child Health. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK.


His research interest is in Pathophysiology of Pre-eclampsia and Medical Education. He has an extensive list of peer-reviewed research publications.
